Des guides pour tout le monde

How to support trans and non-binary youth in the face of familial bullying

As part of the Ensemble contre l’intimidation (Together against bullying) project, three guides on the theme of intra-family bullying in the families of trans and non-binary children have been developed. The goal of the project is to enable young TNBQ people to identify and deal with bullying within their own families. The guides also aim to raise awareness among parents and siblings about how bullying dynamics are perpetuated within the family and what the resulting impacts are. The guide for professionals offers a number of guidelines and intervention tools to help families deal with these issues.

Currently, these guides are only available in French.

Intra-family bullying refers to mistreatment, harassment or abuse that occurs within a family unit. It involves one or more members of a family targeting another by adopting behaviors that result, intentionally or unintentionally, in intimidation, control, humiliation and so on.

This phenomenon can have serious consequences for the well-being and mental health of the person targeted, particularly when these gestures are directed against specific aspects of the person’s identity.
